Tuesday and Wednesday Events! 10/15 -10/16

Hi all! What fun things did you do for Columbus Day? We had a busy day of work, meetings, etc. Too bad I didn't have off to enjoy the day with my sweet baby! It would have been fun to do some Columbus Day projects.

Here are some fun activities going on in Hampton Roads this week:


Tuesday
Amazing Butterflies 
The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center a fun butterfly maze for kids to go through. In this maze, they will learn the stages a caterpillar goes through in order to turn into a butterfly. This is a hands-on life size maze that is open from 9AM - 5PM. Regular admission prices apply.

ABC Art: Art for Preschoolers Ages 3-6

Head over (with your preschooler of course) to the Children's Museum of Virginia for a fun ABC Art class at 10 AM. This class is $50 for Tuesdays from now until November 5th. Hurry and register now by clicking here

Infant Massage Classes and Beyond the Delivery

VCE Family Focus is offering a great class to inform new parents about what to expect once you bring your sweet little one home from the hospital. The class and materials are $25. AND childcare is provided for older siblings. This class will take place at St. Mark Lutheran Church at 118 Old York-Hampton Hwy. in Yorktown at 10 AM. 

Toddler Tuesdays at the Virginia Aquarium

Preschoolers are invited to the Virginia Aquarium at 11 AM & 12:30 PM for story time, songs, and an adventure in the aquarium. Click here for more information. 

Zoo Tales at Norfolk Zoo

Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11 AM are story time at the the zoo. Enjoy a great book and meet some cool animals! Regular admission applies. 


$1.50 Movie Night at Cinema Cafe
At the Greenbrier and Pembroke locations you can see a movie for only $1.50. What an awesome comparison to the very expensive movies in the regular theater. Plus you can eat lunch or dinner while you watch your movie.

We are Young Writers! 
National Novel Writing Month is coming up and the Virginia Beach Public Libraries want to help you get ready! Grades 6-8 can come to the Windsor Woods Area Library at 3612 South Plaza Trail in Virginia Beach at 4:30 PM to get ideas and tips on how to write their own novels.

Pawsitive Reading with Therapy Dogs
Kids grades K-5th are invited to hang out with therapy dogs at Bayside Area & Special Services Library at 6:00 PM.

Lego Night at Cafe Stella
Make it a family night at Cafe Stella! Tuesday nights are Lego Night and your kids will have the opportunity to play with a ton of legos and hang out with other kids while you can enjoy grabbing something to eat. This is happening from 5:30-7:30 PM at 1907 Colonial Ave. in Norfolk.


Wednesday

Music Mommy & Me and Baby School
Babies from birth to age 12 can have fun with music today at the Virginia Beach School of Arts. Try out a class for FREE at 9:30 AM at 3083 Brickhouse Ct. in Virginia Beach.

Little Rockstars Preschool Music Class
This class for preschoolers happens every week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 AM and on Fridays at noon. It is $7 per adult & child and $5 per additional child. There are a lot of great reviews about this class- great energy for preschoolers- check it out!! It is at the Farmers Market in Virginia Beach.

Early Expeditions
The Virginia Aquarium has another fun program for kids at 11 AM. Your toddler can learn problem solving and figure out "who, what, when, where and why" of the animal world. Regular admission is required. 

Discovery Days- SPIDERS!
The Kempsville Area Library is getting in the Halloween spirit by making their Discovery Days theme all about spiders! Kids grades K-3 can learn more about spiders and do some crafts as well from 3:30 PM-4:40 PM at 832 Kempsville Rd. in Virginia Beach. 

Ghostly Folklore
Kids ages 12-14 will enjoy hearing some spooky takes from around the country and make a cool craft for Halloween. Head over to the Great Neck Area Library (1251 Bayne Dive in Virginia Beach) from 5-6:30 PM. 

Produce Auction and Harvest Celebration
The Virginia Beach Farmers Market has fun for the whole family! Come out for music, canning/freezing information and raffle prizes from 6:30 PM - 9PM.
